Advanced Expanded Perlite

Advanced Expanded Perlite Products comprise functional materials obtained through fine milling and air classification of expanded perlite. For the MinaLite and MinaCare series, these processes produce very fine particles with carefully controlled particle size distributions.

Production begins with the rapid heating of perlite ore under controlled conditions. During heating, the glass structure softens and the water within it turns to steam, causing the particles to expand. The expanded material then undergoes fine milling and air classification according to the target product specifications. Milling conditions and classification parameters are controlled together to produce grades with the required fineness and consistent particle size distributions.

The MinaLite series is used as a lightweight functional filler in paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, putties, gypsum plasters, plastics and composites. Its fine, controlled particle size distribution, low density and absorption properties help reduce formulation density, modify texture and improve application characteristics. In paints and coatings, appropriate grade selection can also help control matting and surface appearance.

The MinaCare series consists of fine perlite grades developed for Consumer Care applications. The controlled particle size distribution achieved through precision milling and air classification supports grade selection for absorption, texture modification and filler functions. The appropriate grade is selected according to the intended function and the requirements of the final formulation.

The portfolio also includes perlite microspheres used as lightweight functional fillers. These products can be supplied uncoated or with surface treatments according to application requirements.

Product selection considers particle size distribution, density, absorption properties and the proportion used in the formulation. This enables the selection of suitable grades for the desired weight reduction, texture, surface appearance and workability.
