Energy
This investment supports the transition towards lower-carbon production while strengthening long-term energy security. It represents a practical step towards meeting the electricity requirements of the Turkish operations through renewable generation and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

Renewable Electricity for Turkish Operations
Electricity generated by the wind power plant is delivered to the national grid rather than supplied directly to individual facilities. Renewable generation and electricity consumption across the Turkish operations are monitored together to ensure that the plant's output corresponds with their overall electricity requirements.
This approach allows geographically separate quarries, processing plants and operational facilities to be supported within a coordinated renewable-energy model.
Lower-Carbon Production
The wind-energy investment supports efforts to reduce the emissions associated with purchased electricity and lower the environmental impact of mining and classified-perlite production.
It also strengthens operational resilience by connecting industrial electricity demand with a dedicated renewable-generation asset. Environmental responsibility, energy security and long-term operating efficiency are therefore addressed through the same investment.
The project contributes to the group's sustainability objectives while also supporting Türkiye's renewable-energy capacity and the wider transition towards lower-carbon industrial production.

Monitoring Environmental Performance
Energy use and associated emissions are monitored across the principal stages of the Turkish operational chain. This includes quarry activities, transport of raw material from the mines to the processing plants, drying, crushing, milling, screening, air classification, packing, internal handling and delivery of finished material to the loading port.
Maintaining a consistent monitoring approach helps identify where energy is consumed, evaluate changes over time and determine where further improvements can be made.
Emissions are calculated annually under ISO 14064-1:2018 and the GHG Protocol, using IPCC and DEFRA emission factors. The inventory runs from extraction through to delivery at the load port.
Energy Efficiency in Processing
Drying, crushing, milling and air classification account for the principal energy requirements of classified-perlite production in Türkiye. Plant configurations and process settings are therefore reviewed for energy consumption alongside production yield and finished-grade performance.
Changes to material flow, equipment settings or process configuration are evaluated for their effects on both energy use and product consistency. This ensures that improvements in one area are considered in relation to the overall efficiency of the production process.
By combining renewable generation with continuous monitoring and process optimisation, the energy strategy supports the electricity requirements of the group's mining and processing operations in Türkiye while advancing long-term sustainability and operational efficiency.
